This booklet, written by the BC Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General in 2011, is designed to assist service providers, parents/guardians, teachers, and others who are working to help prevent children and youth from being sexually exploited or to help them leave situations that are exploitative in nature. It defines sexual exploitation and outlines the different forms. It explains who is vulnerable and highlights the risk factors to look out for. It also describes who the perpetrators are as well as the impact sexual exploitation can have on a person. Finally, it explains how you can help and where you can turn to for additional support.
